Haven’t Done a Practice Livestream Yet? Now You Can on Instagram

Nearly every major social media platform now features livestreaming, including Instagram! Streaming is the easiest way to create engaging video content, which helps new patients find your dental practice!

You may have noticed that there’s been a lot of buzz about live video lately, especially streaming from mobile devices. And for good reason! Livestreaming is one of the best ways to maintain top-of-mind awareness and grow your following, and now you can on Instagram! When you go live, your followers are notified, and after the broadcast, the recording of the video can be added to your Instagram story. This pushes your practice’s story to the top of your followers’ feeds, where they’re more likely to see and share your content.

Livestreaming takes the stress and complication out of creating video content. When people tune into a livestream, they don’t expect anything to be scripted or edited, they just want to see what’s going on and maybe say hello in the chat! It’s a great way to give your fans a behind-the-scenes look at your practice and help them connect with your team on a personal level.

Getting started is easy. All you need is a smartphone and the Instagram app!

1. Open the Instagram app and tap on the camera icon in the top-left corner.

2. Switch the camera mode to “Live” by tapping on it at the bottom of the screen. Before beginning your broadcast, tap the gear icon in the top-left corner to check your sharing settings. Tap “Start Live Video” and you’ll immediately begin broadcasting! That’s it!

3. After the broadcast, follow the on-screen prompt to add the recording of the broadcast to your practice’s Instagram story so more people can see it. Remember, Instagram stories are only publicly viewable for 24 hours, but you can save the video to your phone by tapping “Save” in the top-right corner.
