We believe that one of the most important components of a practice’s relationship with its patients is TRUST. We’ve noticed that some social media marketing service providers continue to hijack their clients’ voices. We believe this is a big mistake.
The foundation of our approach to dental social media training/coaching/service comes from the ancient Chinese proverb, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
When wall posts on Facebook, for example, come from THE PRACTICE it sends a powerful message about their practice culture. It says that in addition to using social media to put “a derrière in a chair”, they honestly embrace the idea that personal, social media connections serve a higher purpose in their practice. In addition to the long term patient loyalty benefits and word-of-mouth referrals, there’s huge positive impact on their team dynamics as well. That’s why we help OUR CLIENTS do the storytelling—not us.

At the same time, here at My Social Practice, we’re voracious pragmatists. Yes, we talk a whole lot about theory, but in the end we know that our service brings huge value where the rubber meets the road.
As we visit each day with our clients, we often hear this question, “What can I post on Facebook? On Twitter? I’m so busy each morning when I come in that I just don’t have time to think of an idea.” We understand. That’s why we’re starting Kickstart Posts daily email service.
Kickstart Posts aren’t intended to put words in our clients’ mouths, or to be copied and pasted. Rather, they’re intended to quickly put a thought in their minds (and many times, a link in their hands)—a thought they can use in seconds to create a great post. Our goal is to “kickstart” their social media for the day—to prime the ’ol pump and get them off to a great start.
Here’s How It Works, In Seconds
Each business morning, our clients click on the email we’ve sent them. They read the suggested idea. Sometimes there is a link too. If so, they copy it. Then they go to their Facebook wall or Twitter feed (or sometimes both) and write a quick sentence to go with it. We encourage them to invite people to respond.

Of course, when it comes to how much time our clients want to spend previewing the post idea, writing the accompanying text, etc… That’s totally up to them. We always use our very best judgement in suggesting things that are fun, not controversial, interesting, informative, and engaging to save them time and worry.
Our Strong Advice To Our Clients…
We’re reminding our client practices that our Kickstart Posts daily email service is not intended to replace our comprehensive coaching program. Kickstart’s intent is to support and supplement it.
