The Children’s Dental Center Of Madison, our July Practice of the Month, understands Social Media For Dentists!
From their practice in Wisconson, The Children’s Dental Center of Madison has been steadily growing their online presence over the past couple of years with consistent effort and a social mindset.
Having worked with them for a while, we’re impressed with how the team demonstrates a VERY important principle—active social media is a natural extension of the great attributes you exercise every day in the office.
Awesome Communication Starts In The Office, Then Continues Through Social Media For Dentists
For example, an open dialogue between your patients and your dental team starts in the office when your patients can tell from your attention, your transparency, and your caring advice that you prioritize your patients’ health and comfort. The Children’s Dental Center of Madison is very good at communicating this.
This open dialog continues through their social media for dentists when their patients’ questions and comments are acknowledged and answered:
Social Media For Dentists Is For Showing Patients You Know & Remember THEM
Good relationships start in the office when you KNOW and remember your patients… What they care about, what their concerns are… etc.
It continues online when you show that you know your patients by posting things they care about—things that they can really use, or have fun with. This is why we never want to take over your practice’s voice. You know your patients so much better than we do!
Children’s Dental Center of Madison Shares Things That Patients Love
Children’s Dental Center of Madison shares things they know their fans will love. Things that relate to the community, to parenthood… all mixed in with daily kickstarts from My Social Practice.
And of course, as Sheli, their practice manager, points out: “Any time we post photos of our patients or the doctors we get the greatest response from our social media friends.”
Extraordinary Care Gives Fans Something To Talk About
Here are two important ingredients for a great social dental practice:
- Remarkable care
- A dental social media marketing platform where patients can actually remark!
Patients at Children’s Dental Center of Madison are sincerely grateful for the kindness demonstrated by the team members, and parents express that appreciation on Facebook and their blog. This is always the most fun part of social media to watch. However, remember that it starts with extraordinary care in the office.
Check out the examples below. Sheli told us “We knew that using social media was going to be a great way to reach our families, but the responses have been amazing. Parents ask great questions and have been very positive with their feedback.”
We Asked Sheli…
We asked Sheli, who manages the practice, what their team does in the office to move forward their social media efforts. She said,“We are asking for email addresses at each visit to make sure we are always up-to-date. We also continue to do promos to make sure all of the patients who want to connect with us are.”
Lesson Learned: Even once you have a solid following, keeping current and updated is important! And, make sure your whole team is on board!
When we asked Sheli to share her thoughts about the biggest benefits of social media for THEIR PATIENTS, she replied,“We’ve noticed that our patients love feeling connected to us. It’s a great way to ask questions of us without calling in. The patients and families love that we are online and always providing info.”
Lesson Learned: Your online connections are so convenient for patients, you’ll be surprised how much they appreciate it.
When we asked Sheli to share her thoughts about the biggest benefits of social media for THEIR PRACTICE, she replied,“We like how easy it can be to reach out to our patients and provide them with dental information as well as fun local info. We feel more in tune with the younger generation of parents bringing their kids to us. Our new website has a Facebook logo and we love that families can get all the info about us they need online, if that’s what they are looking for.”
Lesson Learned: Staying connected with patients and families between check-ups can have a powerful effect on patient loyalty.
We asked which tools and resources from My Social Practice have been the most helpful. Sheli replied,“The daily posts are great! I also appreciate the links to be able to look and see if I’m doing things correct, such as posting to our Facebook page.”
Lesson Learned: Continued training and handy resources from My Social Practice means that you can make the most of the minutes you spend each day on social media.
