AS WE WATCH HUNDREDS OF DENTAL PRACTICES’ FACEBOOK WALLS each week (including dozens and dozens of our own clients) we’ve learned that occasionally asking questions on your wall is an effective tactic for engaging with patients and prospective new patients.

Simply Ask A Question!

Be Smart About How You Use Questions with Facebook Marketing for Dentists

Now, this part is important… Be sure to spread these questions out! In other words, DON’T use one question on Monday, another one on Wednesday, and yet another one on Friday! Maybe ask one every week or two—AND BE SURE TO DO OTHER THINGS ON YOUR WALL BETWEEN QUESTIONS!

People like to know that you are listening! Remember, it’s a two-way conversation! If you don’t respond, people get discouraged and may not participate again.

Some Other General Thoughts About Your Facebook Wall

Here at My Social Practice, our integrated dental social media marketing strategies include a number of Facebook tactics. But don’t forget to think about your practice’s Facebook wall as your own “hallowed ground”.

We will suggest ideas—but your wall is where YOU really shine. After all, we’re not working in your practice, right? We’re not present (for example) when your patient, Sally, emerges from your operatory with tears of joy streaming down her face after seeing her new smile makeover! Only YOU and YOUR TEAM can capture this kind of emotion and publish it to your wall (don’t forget to get Sally’s permission!).

But, does everything posted to your wall need to be as profound as the Sally example mentioned above? Of course not! The important point is that you’re CONSISTENTLY POSTING! We recommend about three times a week. Think of each post as another brick in your social media wall that creates top-of-mind awareness and value with current patients and prospects.

Remember, your wall isn’t a place to “sell” dental services with EVERY post. A little bit of soft sell once in a while is fine… But remember, those who Like your page are people first, patients (or prospective patients) second.

Provide value, along with a little bit of fun, and watch it come back to you.
