Hammond & Ellis has been one of our valued clients for nearly three years. We’ve worked really closely with them because of their close proximity to our corporate office. They “get” social media marketing.

Social Media For Dentists Means Always Sharing With Patients

Tonya is Hammond & Ellis’ office manager. She told us how important it is in their practice to post and share things as soon as they happen. “We keep it top-of-mind all the time. If you don’t, you lose out on great opportunities. We’re always thinking, ‘We should post this on Facebook,’ or ‘This would make a great blog post!’”

School visits, continuing education, and exciting personal news from team members and patients—it’s all there.

Fearless In Trying New Tools And Strategies

One of the things we LOVE about Hammond & Ellis is that they’re always willing and anxious to try new things. There’s remarkable energy in their business. They’re truly a social practice.

LONG before everyone else was doing Harlem Shake videos, they were among the first! The result (as of today) is over 8,100 views of the video below… PLUS, they had a LOT of fun making the video in under an hour! Tonya told us “We had great results from our fans and MANY people beyond our fans. We received over 50 new Facebook Likes from this one post. We had a fun time doing it too!”

We Asked Tonya…

We asked Tonya what their biggest surprise has been using social media marketing in their practice. She said,“When we first started it was overwhelming to try to find things to post and it took away from my other duties. When we partnered with My Social Practice it was finally fun, quick and so easy to manage our social media on a daily basis. We love the daily post updates and posting fun (and even seemingly trivial) things about our office culture.”

Lesson Learned: Social media really should be fun—it helps a lot when you have someone (like us) help take the stress out of it.

When we asked Tonya to share her thoughts about the biggest benefits of social media for THEIR PRACTICE, she replied,“Social media allows us to connect with our patients quickly, cheaply and easily! If we have something that we need to announce to our patients FAST there is no other way! With a click of a few buttons you have a Facebook post or even a well put together blog post that can be emailed immediately (thanks to My Social Practice). We have done this “extra” blog post email several times and have great success at reaching our patients.”

Lesson Learned: One more reason social media is so effective—it’s an easy way to directly connect with patients and prospective patients.

We asked Tonya what kind of feedback they get from their patients when they come in to the office. She told us, “They love to see our posts. I think it is fun for them to see that we (especially the docs) are real people with a different side than what they see in the office sometimes. For example, in the Harlem Shake video: Jazz Man and Banana Man (Dr. Hammond and Dr. Ellis) are two people our patients would never expect to see when they came into our office!”

Lesson Learned: It’s OK to show your human side. People like doing business with people they like!

We asked which tools and resources from My Social Practice have been the most helpful. Tonya replied,“I love the continued training and updates. I have learned so many great tips on how to post better and make my job easier. The latest one that was life changing for me was Blake’s video on how to schedule posts. Before I would always try to remember to do something on the weekends but I would get busy and forget. I felt that we were really missing the connection with our patients because I was only posting Monday-Thursday. I have saved all the daily post emails that I have not posted so I go back and schedule them for the days that I am not here. Now I feel that we have much better exposure… LIFE CHANGING! Thanks Blake!”

Lesson Learned: There are tons of tips & tricks to effectively using social media. We’re glad that our training makes your job easier in the office!

We asked Tonya what she and her team do in the office to move their social media efforts forward. She told us, “At the end of the year last year we met together and assigned each team member to do a blog post on a topic of their choice. Dr Hammond and Dr Ellis switch off with blog posts and do one every other month and we also have assignments for Facebook posts. We made a plan and we follow it! It is also very important to have all team members talk to their patients about our social media. They need to be excited so they can pass that on to the patients.”

Lesson Learned: When your whole team is involved on your social media efforts, it shows!
