Stacey told us, “When we take a picture with a patient, we ask them to ‘like’ our Facebook page so they can tag themselves in the picture. That way their friends will see the picture, and maybe even look into scheduling an appointment with our office!

Of the things you’ve tried, what have you had the best results from?

We get great response to pictures of our staff members, any office outings or continuing education we attend, and pictures of Dr. Matt and/or his family and adorable children!

What’s the hardest part of social media for you?

We are a busy practice, so finding time to play around on the many social media avenues like Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram can be difficult. Also trying to engage our patients in those social media tools other than Facebook has been hard.

What feedback have you had from patients in the office?

Our patients enjoy talking about personal photos we put up, especially when they’re talking about recent continuing education, or our families. It is a good conversation piece!

What advice do you have for practices starting out on social media?

Make it fun! People don’t always like to read just educational or dental-related material. We think our patients enjoy getting a peek into our personal lives! One more thing: utilizing the ‘tag’ option on Facebook to tag your patients and team members in pictures is great for getting more views, likes and shares!
