Dental Office Social Media Posts That Increase Followers
WE’RE ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH this blog series, 26 Dental Social Media Marketing Truths. It’s my hope that by now you’ve executed a number of the Action Items I’ve suggested and outlined in every post. If not, let’s get going, bucky!
Right This Minute Is Your Moment Of Truth
Are you going to use dental social media post ideas to make a difference in your practice, or are you just going to dillydally around some more? Sorry to be so snarky, but I’m going to make this easy. No matter how busy you are right this minute you can do this dental social media idea. you’re going to create a new Patient of the Month or Patient of the Week program.
Why? Because highlighting your patients is one of the most effective dental social media posts that you can do in your office. Not only do they receive tons of engagement, which pushes the content out into your community, but a dental contest idea also increases your followers.

Effective Dental Office Social Media Posts Involve Your Team
So let’s do this now, Yep… Right now. Grab a pencil and piece of paper. I’ll wait.
What if we tried something new when it comes to dental marketing? Something different than conventional marketing tactics. I’m sure each of us has a dress, a pair of shoes, an outfit, a tie, or a bag that we purchased because a salesperson was able to elicit an emotional response from us.
We all desire to be emotionally fulfilled, and we frequently look for ways to make ourselves feel better. The emotional bond we have with a company, individual, or business has an impact on the decisions we make. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) reveals that consumers “typically use emotions (personal feelings and experiences) rather than facts (brand features, characteristics, and facts)” while evaluating a business, according to Psychology Today.
So in your social media marketing why not focus on emotion rather than features and benefits. Running a dental contest is a great way to get patients involved emotionally with your practice.
In order to do this you have to have buy-in from your team. Trust me, you can’t do this all on your own. You’ll get worn out and tired with everything that needs to be done to stay consistent.
Get your team involved. Get them excited to run a patient contest as well.
Dental Office Social Media Posts: Action Item
Now that you have a pencil and piece of paper I want you to answer the following three questions to run an effective dental contest:
1. What prize are you going to give your Patient of the Month? If you’re the financial decision maker I want you to decide in the next 60 seconds. It can be as simple as a gift card to a restaurant and two movie tickets. If you’re not the financial decision maker, I want you to come up with three suggestions that you can present to the dentist or marketing manager. Write them down, then ask the financial decision maker to make a decision.
2. What criteria are you going to use to pick the winner? Don’t make this complicated! Did you see how simple and general the things were in the example above. Just execute! In fact, if you don’t want to come up with criteria first, just pick someone you really like, then retrofit the criteria to the winner. Look at today’s or tomorrow’s schedule of patients coming in and pick one! Don’t make dental office social media posts more difficult than it needs to be.
3. How are you going to spread the word? Using your dental social media accounts, of course! If you’re one of our clients you already have everything in place including a form to submit to us for publication to your social media accounts. If you’re not one of our clients, just get three things set up… A simple blog, a YouTube channel, and a Facebook page. You can do this in very little time.
You did it! You shipped a dental office social media post! Congrats! Now, keep going!
