Quick Idea #17 – Facebook Back To School Supplies Drive For Needy Kids

By August 18, 2011June 6th, 20222 Comments

IT DOESN’T MATTER whether or not you are a pediatric practice, or where in the world you are located. There is an elementary school nearby with needy kids that need help. Here is a great idea and a great chance to do some good while creating energy and engagement with your patients and prospective patients! Encourage every patient who comes in to donate—AND more importantly to share the supplies drive on their OWN walls with all their Facebook friends!

Take video and photos throughout the drive to post on your wall. Take a video when you go to the school to present the supplies! Not only will a back to school drive help the children but it provides a tremendous amount of good will for your dental practice. Not only will a back to school drive help the children but it provides a tremendous amount of good will for your dental practice.

Good will and humanitarian events are one of the best dental marketing experiences that you can be involved with.

Not only are you helping out your local community, but you’re providing an opportunity for your team to serve. This is a great dental marketing event to mention on your dental practice website, newsletters and any other dental marketing media outlets you use.

Good will-type activities provide free advertising for your dental practice if done correctly. If you have not yet decided what type of charitable activity or event that you want to be involved with, here are some tips that may help:

1) Make sure it’s something new. If you’ve been helping the same cause every year, try switching charities once in awhile. Change up your dental marketing tactics occasionally so people don’t get tired of seeing promotions for the same charity all the time.

2) Create an opportunity for patients to donate. Make sure that they know how much you appreciate their business and ask them to refer friends and family to increase your new patient referrals.

Make sure you promote dental good will on your website, newsletter and social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram too! People love pictures so send out some pictures from your event along with a blurb about how many supplies were donated and how much money was raised to help a dental good will cause.

People want to know about these things and it makes them feel good when they hear dental professionals in the community are helping out, so make sure you let them know!

Good luck!

This is something my Rotary club does and it is so rewarding. We are going to try it in our office.

Thanks Robin. Let us know how it goes! Be sure to think ahead about things you can do during the drive to get the most traction you can. Let us know if you have questions. If you haven’t read the other post (the link in the content above) it may help. Thanks again.
