3 Steps For Ongoing Posting Of Your Quarterly Promotions & Offers On Your FB Wall

By December 28, 2011 September 23rd, 2021 No Comments

RECENTLY WE’VE HAD A FEW CLIENT PRACTICES ASK how they can get more of their existing Facebook fans to enter their quarterly social media promotions and/or request the quarterly offers that we help create for them. Here’s one very important component.

It’s IMPORTANT To Understand This First!

Remember that your My Social Practice quarterly promotions and offers are hosted ON YOUR BLOG, not on Facebook! Facebook is just a very important place to LINK to your promotion or offer on your blog. There are a bunch of important reasons why we do it this way. We’ll save explaining those reasons for another post.

On Facebook, there are two places that can LINK to your quarterly promotion or offer on your blog—from your WALL and from your WELCOME TAB. There’s a big difference between these two places. Your WALL is seen more by EXISTING fans (Likes) through their newsfeeds. Your WELCOME TAB (or landing tab) is seen more by NEW VISITORS (not yet Likes) to your Facebook Page.

We see some client practices instruct fans (from their wall) to go to their Welcome Tab to enter their quarterly promotion or request their offer. While this eventually can take them to the form on your blog, it creates an unnecessary step with more clicks for your fans. Most of the time, interested existing fans who see your promotion will intuitively click on it directly in their newsfeed. If you post a photo of the prize, for example, when they click on it nothing will happen which leaves fans confused and decreases the chance that they will enter and/or share the promotion.

Step 1: Copy The URL On Your Blog Promotion Or Offer Page

Step 2: Paste That Link Into A Status Update On Your Facebook Wall

Step 3: Add A Fresh Comment And Call To Action

Once you’ve pasted in the link, add a comment with the link such as, “Make sure to enter our new promotion!” or “Click this link to request an appointment for our Facebook contest offer!”.

A Couple Other Things To Keep In Mind

One of the reasons why following the steps above is an effective way to post your quarterly promotions and offers is because doing so pulls in a nice thumbnail of the graphic we’ve created for your promotion or offer and a short description:

This link better catches the attention of fans that see it in their newsfeed. When they click on the image or link, it links them directly to the page where they can take action.

IT’S IMPORTANT TO SHARE YOUR PROMOTIONS AND OFFERS OFTEN. It may feel like you’re posting about it too much. But in light of Facebook’s new EdgeRank algorithms, it’s probably better to error on the side of posting more, not less. Of course, you don’t want to overdo it. But remember that chances are your fans’ newsfeeds won’t be “bombarded” with your posts even if you post quite a bit. Timeliness, affinity, and weight now more important factors in what your fans see in their newsfeeds.

Additional Benefits of Consistent Posting on Social Media

One important and often not thought of benefit of dental social media is the improvement to dental SEO. SEO for dentists is positively effected by dental social media signals. The more interaction that you get with your patients on social media accounts the more improvement in your dental SEO. And don’t forget about your reputation. Social media engagement is a brilliant form of dental reputation management.

Thanks, as always, for being our valued clients and friends. If you have more questions about this, let us know.
