Congratulations to our February Practice of the Month — McDonald Dental!
Getting over the initial doubts about becoming a social practice is a part of the process nearly all our clients face. Sharing your team culture online, involving your patients in social media, and asking for reviews all take you out of your comfort zone. But check out McDonald Dental and you’ll see why it’s worth it!
The team at McDonald Dental maintains a well-rounded online presence: they’ve got a great website with a blog full of useful content, they share practice campaigns, prize giveaways and dental advice on Facebook, and they include their patients whenever they can. But where they really blew us away was their reviews! With over 200 favorable reviews on both Google and Facebook, McDonald Dental has elevated their profile as one of the premier practices in their community — and potential patients are noticing.
We reached out to their social media coordinator, Anum Baig, for some insight on how their practice has grown. Take something to apply in your own office!
Q&A With Social Media Coordinator Anum Baig
(Responses edited for length and clarity.)
Since you started using social media in your practice, what has been the biggest surprise? The biggest “a-ha moment”?
“The biggest a-ha moment for our practice was how easy it was to ask for reviews and how our patients were so eager to say good things about us online. They love seeing us ‘behind the scenes’ on social media — that we are a team and a family, that we like to have fun together as well as care for our patients.”
Among the social media tools you have used, which have you seen the most success with?
“Initially, it was hard to get the staff involved and comfortable with asking for reviews and patient participation. But we have definitely gotten more new patients with social media and getting Google reviews has put us on the map. For our practice, Facebook is easy to use and we have had the most success with it.”
Which part of My Social Practice’s service has been the most useful to you?
“The links provided by MSP Reviews for patients to write a review in the practice.”
What advice would you give to a practice just starting out on social media?
“Dive right in! It may be a little weird to ask patients for reviews at first but you’ll be surprised at the outcome. People love talking about a good experience, especially at the dentist. We just kind of rally ahead together!”
We’d like to thank McDonald Dental for sharing their success story with us and we look forward to watching them continue to grow!
